About the role

Reporting to the Senior Director, Generation & Optimization the incumbent is responsible for maintaining data quality, monitoring the performance of renewable energy assets, produce reports to Senior Management and regulating authorities. The Senior Analyst will identify opportunities to improve reporting, data management and monitoring performance. Consequently, the incumbent will support the implementation of automation and process improvements.

Note: The level of this role (Analyst or Senior Analyst) will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Report energy generating stations’ performance internally to Senior Management and externally to regulating authorities, including various ISO’s and NERC.
  • Manage outage data in the Power Generating Availability Data System (PGADS) in collaboration with Operations Managers.
  • Support the auditing process related to asset performance.
  • Prepare and present the annual outage plans for the Canadian and US assets with the help of operations.
  • Propose actions to improve data management procedures and support their implementation.
  • Maintain data quality pertaining to outage management systems, asset characteristics and projected generation databases.
  • Interact with different departments to respond to ad-hoc requests or to seek information in support of requests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; a technical diploma combined with relevant experience will also be considered.
  • 3 years of experience in performance analysis, preferably within engineering, technology, manufacturing, or other data-intensive environments.

Knowledge and Experience Required

  • Strong coding and data-processing experience related to performance reporting, automation, and database management (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, VBA, SQL).

  • Experience performing statistical and performance analysis, including gathering, validating, and analyzing data from multiple sources to support decision‑making and produce concise, meaningful reports.

  • Experience leveraging automation and emerging technologies, including AI‑driven tools, to enhance reporting, data management, and performance monitoring processes is an asset.

  • Knowledge of hydropower, wind, and/or solar energy generation is an asset.

  • Analytical skills with high attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and data integrity across systems and reporting outputs.

  • Experience managing and maintaining structured data using established procedures to meet internal and external reporting requirements.

  • Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous improvement of data management, reporting methodologies, and analytical processes.

  • Planning, organizational, and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet reporting and critical regulatory submission deadlines, and work collaboratively across departments to respond to operational and ad‑hoc requests.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and evolving environments, with a proactive and solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments to support organizational objectives and day‑to‑day operations.
