About the role
About Humaniti
At Humaniti, we are driven by a singular vision: to leave a lasting, positive impact on humanity. As a dedicated charity, we tirelessly work towards eradicating poverty, providing emergency aid, and upholding justice on a global scale. Our team is the backbone of our mission. Our focus is to nurture a culture where collaboration is key, diverse perspectives are valued, and every team member is empowered to bring about change.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Career Coach / Case Manager to join the Thrivers AME Pathway team. This is a frontline delivery role that sits at the heart of participant success. You will provide personalized career coaching and wraparound case management to individuals pursuing AME apprenticeships — guiding them from intake through to placement and post-placement retention.
You will work alongside a licensed psychotherapist who is also our career coach, and will be integral to delivering one-on-one sessions, coordinating wraparound supports, managing the participant database, and contributing to our longitudinal research study in partnership with the University of Waterloo.
Key Responsibilities
- Career Coaching & Participant Support
- Provide one-on-one career coaching sessions tailored to each participant's AME apprenticeship goals, barriers, and strengths.
- Support participants with resume building, interview preparation, log book / call book completion, and LinkedIn profile development.
- Deliver coaching aligned to the Apprenticeship Success Series and Apprenticeship Prep Series workshop content.
- Provide wrap-around mental health referrals and connect participants to the licensed psychotherapist on staff as needed.
- Help participants build confidence, resilience, and workplace readiness throughout their journey.
- Intake, Needs Assessment & Case Management
- Conduct comprehensive intake interviews to register participants, assess eligibility, and identify financial, social, and professional support needs.
- Develop and maintain individualized support plans for each participant.
- Track participant progress through all program stages: intake, bootcamp, assessment day, placement, and post-placement.
- Provide early intervention when participants show signs of disengagement or barriers to progress.
- Coordinate wraparound supports including transportation (bus passes, mileage), childcare, workwear, and emergency assistance.
- Apprenticeship Placement & Employer Liaison
- Support participants through co-designed employer assessment days, including preparation coaching and debrief support.
- Advocate for participants with employer partners (airlines, MROs, manufacturers) to facilitate apprenticeship placements.
- Assist in securing and managing commitment letters from employers for apprenticeship opportunities.
- Monitor participant onboarding and early retention, providing continued support post-placement.
- Track job shadow opportunities and support participants in networking with industry contacts.
- Mentorship Coordination
- Match participants with appropriate mentors from the AME Mentorship Network (300+ members).
- Coordinate mentorship sessions, track engagement, and follow up to ensure productive relationships.
- Support logistics for networking events, industry insight panels, and design thinking labs.
- Collect mentor feedback and flag quality or engagement concerns to the Program Manager.
- Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and timely records in the centralized CRM/case management database.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) including enrollment, completion, placement, and retention rates.
- Contribute data for quarterly and annual performance reports submitted to the SDF funder.
- Collect qualitative feedback through surveys, case studies, and participant interviews.
- Support the longitudinal research study (in partnership with University of Waterloo) by maintaining data on income changes, career progression, and mental wellbeing.
- Workshop & Event Support
- Assist with coordination and facilitation of Apprenticeship Readiness Bootcamp sessions (technical basics, soft skills, tool orientation, financial literacy, interview prep).
- Support logistics for the AME Symposium, including participant communications and data capture.
- Attend AME and aviation-related events to expand participant networks and identify opportunities.
- Represent Thrivers at community outreach events, campus ambassador sessions, and information sessions.
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of experience in career coaching, case management, social work, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of workforce development principles, apprenticeship pathways, and employment barriers.

- Excellent one-on-one communication and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and build trust with diverse participants.
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage a caseload of multiple participants simultaneously.
- Proficiency in CRM, case management software, or similar database tools.
- Experience working with underrepresented groups including newcomers, racialized individuals, youth, and women.
Preferred

- Bilingual abilities are an asset.
What We Offer
