Reporting to the Recreation Manager, the Bus Driver is responsible for providing safe, reliable, and courteous transportation services to residents.
Responsibilities
- Transporting residents to scheduled activities and other scheduled destinations as applicable
- Assists residents during boarding and exiting the vehicle, and when they cross the street when the vehicle is stopped to ensure their safety.
- Operates the vehicle safely and in compliance with traffic laws, organizational policies, and licensing requirements.
- Ensuring the maintenance of the bus such as filling the gas tank and windshield washer fluid, checking tire pressure and checking the oil.
- Ensures vehicles are regularly cleaned and sanitized, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Supports all related tasks during resident outings to ensure the continuity and the quality of the services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Class 4 driver’s license with a clean drivers record
- 1-2 years of experience as a driver.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in customer service is an asset.
