What You Will Be Doing

  • Overees the major components of an erection, including budgetary concerns, time management, supply cycles, and safety regulations

  • Supervises all main erection activities to ensure that all operations do not deviate from approved engineering documents

  • Coordinates the execution of the works for erection of superstructures and entire production activity in the erection site area

  • Assists the construction manager in the activities related to the completion of works

  • Liaises with internal and external customers for precast element erection on a large scale, including elements like viaduct segment, spine

  • Acts as the main technical adviser on a construction site for supervisors, operatives and subcontractors

  • checks plans, drawings and quantities for accuracy of calculations

  • ensures that all materials used and work performed are as per specifications

  • Supports the Erection Manager on price analysis for materials and making cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project

  • Manages, monitors and interprets the contract design documents supplied by the client, by the company engineering department or by an external designer

  • Assesses structural steel and concrete engineering drawings, specifications, and related documents.

  • Verifies construction equipment requirements and validate contractor plans.

  • Evaluates structural steel erection plans, method statements, and rigging studies.

  • Finalizes installation duration, sequencing, and coordination with the contractor and erection superintendents.

  • Coordinates necessary interfaces to maintain schedule (i.e. Cranes, scaffolding, etc.)

  • Liaises with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project

  • Liaises with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws

  • Communicates with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress

  • Supervises and and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors

  • Evaluates non-conforming materials/products and to decide necessary recasting and repair

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • 8+ years construction engineering experience, with a focus in erection solutions and techniques.
  • Experience in resource monitoring techniques (i.e. cost accounting, basic estimating) and construction technology, process systems and/or structures preferred.
  • Specialized, technical knowledge of design build or other alternative build techniques.
  • Able to delegate and assign work to engineering team to progress the project production forward.
  • Advanced knowledge of contract specifications and quality assurance practices.
  • Able to identify budget and project costs and recommend options to mitigate project delays.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting methods, quantity tracking methods and cost coding.
  • Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management preferred.
