About the role
Summary
Reporting to the QA Coordinator, the Quality Assurance Student monitors and inspects Sofina Foods products, materials and documentation to comply with the facility’s Quality Assurance programs and specifications, ensuring compliance with government regulations.
Key Accountabilities
- Support and maintain the SDC food safety and quality management system
- Accountable to participate in Quality Assurance projects with a goal of improved compliance and operational efficiency.
- Update grocery product records and documentation
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in college education in food related field of study, related discipline;
- Relevant food processing experience is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of HACCP and GMP’s
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel)
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Availability for days & afternoons (potential to rotate between shifts to cover sick days, vacations, etc.)
Working Conditions
- Primary duties will occur in manufacturing environment (temperature, noise, odours)
- The position requires normal physical effort.
- PPE will be provided by the Company
**this is an active vacancy. $20/hour, expected to be 40 hours/week**
