JOB SUMMARY: The Freight Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all freight within Boshart Industries to ensure timely, cost-effective, and accurate delivery. This role involves scheduling freight pickups, preparing shipping documentation, communicating with carriers, and tracking shipments from origin to destination.
In addition to core responsibilities, the Freight Coordinator will serve as backup support for the Warehouse Coordinator during periods of absence, including vacations and illnesses.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Negotiate and maintain all Canadian freight rates, and provide support for U.S. freight operations as needed

Carrier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers to improve service quality, resolve disputes, and ensure competitive rates. Maintain carrier rating profiles.

Audit all freight documentation to confirm accuracy and compliance.

Freight Cost Optimization: Monitor freight spend and proactively identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising service.

File and process freight claims as needed.

Assist the Customer Service and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams with tracking inquiries and proof of delivery (POD) requests

Monitor and report all freight-related damage or losses to the Manager to ensure visibility into carrier performance

Conduct an annual performance review of the TMS and 3PL service provider.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Back-up Warehouse Coordinator when on vacation and on an as needed basis.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
2-3 years of relevant warehouse experience
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, data analysis. Experience with Microsoft D365 is an asset.
