Eagle Well Servicing, a division of WesternEnergy Services Corp. is hiring an Asset Manager to join our growing team!
Western Energy Services Corp. is an oilfield service company which provides contract drilling services through Horizon Drilling in Canada and Stoneham Drilling Corporation in the United States. In addition, Western provides well servicing through Eagle Well Servicing in Canada, and provides rental services through Aero Rental Services in Canada.
Position Summary
The Asset Manager is responsible for supporting the operational readiness, organization, tracking, and utilization of service rig equipment and mechanical assets. This role combines hands-on yard and equipment coordination responsibilities with day-to-day oversight of equipment movement, inventory control, repairs, certifications, and operational support.
The Asset Manager works closely with Operations, Mechanics, Field Personnel, Vendors, and the Fleet & Equipment Manager to ensure equipment is maintained, available, and operating efficiently to support field operations. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities who continuously looks for opportunities to improve processes, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate movement of equipment between rigs, yards, shops, and third-party repair or recertification facilities
- Operate loaders, forklifts, and other equipment required to safely move and organize assets within the yard
- Assist with shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material tracking activities
- Support operational readiness of the service rig fleet by ensuring equipment is organized, maintained, certified, and available when required
- Coordinate equipment inspections, repairs, maintenance, and recertification activities
- Work closely with mechanics, field personnel, and operations teams to diagnose issues and prioritize repairs
- Maintain critical spare inventory levels and monitor stock availability across field locations
- Ensure equipment certifications, inspections, and maintenance records are properly documented and maintained within company systems
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party contractors to support repairs and equipment services
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe yard and storage areas
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve organization, asset tracking, equipment utilization, operational efficiency, and turnaround times
- Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced operational environment
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture within all yard and equipment activities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience within the well servicing, drilling, transportation, construction, or oilfield service industry preferred
- Previous experience in equipment coordination, yard operations, shipping/receiving, inventory control, or mechanical support roles considered an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with oilfield equipment preferred
- Experience operating loaders, forklifts, or other heavy equipment required
- Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to think critically, prioritize work, and proactively identify operational improvements
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and inventory or maintenance tracking systems
- Ability to work effectively with operations, field personnel, mechanics, and vendors
- Detail oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Special Conditions of Employment
- Overtime may be required based on operational activity levels
- Work is performed in both office and outdoor yard environments
- Physical labor, lifting, climbing, and equipment operation required
- Valid driver’s license required
