About The Role The Staff iOS Engineer role at Capital One Canada offers an exciting opportunity for seasoned mobile developers to lead and shape the future of banking applications. In this position, you will be responsible for motivating, managing, and inspiring a team of talented software engineers to develop innovative mobile solutions. While providing technical leadership, you will also participate hands-on in the development process, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and user-friendly iOS applications. Your work will directly impact how customers view and manage their credit, providing them with tools like Credit Keeper for monitoring credit scores, and Quick Check for pre-approval certainty. This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for technology, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to excellence in software engineering practices.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in any field, along with extensive experience in iOS application development. A minimum of six years of hands-on experience with native iOS applications using Swift and SwiftUI is essential. Candidates should have a strong background in application design, technical architecture, and full lifecycle development. Leadership experience in mentoring junior and intermediate developers, as well as guiding technical and business stakeholders, is highly valued. Additionally, familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or similar, and experience working within agile environments, will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, a collaborative approach, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead the delivery of major components and platform needs in partnership with senior engineers and architects to ensure alignment with business goals and technical standards.
- Work collaboratively within a dynamic mobile development team throughout the entire Software Development Life Cycle, from planning to deployment.
- Enhance and promote best practices in software engineering by designing, developing, testing, and supporting technical solutions across various development tools and technologies.
- Contribute expertise on how emerging technologies impact the domain, providing insights and recommendations to improve product offerings.
- Mentor and guide junior, intermediate, and senior mobile engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
