School District 10 (Arrow Lakes) has the following temporary teaching position

**Effective:******September 8, 2026 to January 31, 2027(or with two weeks' notice of return of the incumbent)

Salary Range:****$67,040 - $119,548 (Annualized, depending on placement on the grid)

Position Overview

Assignment / Schedule

This term position will be mainly focused on teaching Woodworking classes for Grade 8 – 12 and elective courses. Should the contract be extended, it could also include metals and automotive classes.****

Required characteristics / strengths include

  • A valid Teaching Certificate from the BC Teacher Regulation Branch
  • Successful secondary teaching experience
  • A bachelor's degree in industrial arts, completion of the technology education diploma program, or equivalent education and experience
  • Red seal certification is an asset
  • Demonstrated ability in planning and designing engaging learning activities using BC curriculum
  • Strong interpersonal skills and strengths working within a team environment
  • Excellent classroom management skills and proven ability to engage all learners
  • Excellent ability to differentiate for all learners and co-plan for diversity and engagement
  • Successful experience integrating socio-emotional learning and self-regulated learning
  • Demonstrated understanding of indigenous cultures, and experience integrating First Peoples of Principles of Learning into teaching practice
  • Successful experience in facilitating outdoor learning experiences with a focus on place consciousness and cross curricular learning
  • Commitment to co-developing the School Growth Plan and collaboratively organizing for learning
  • Exemplary use of assessment strategies that engage learners and foster learning
  • Professional learning inquiry experience that informs professional practice
  • Commitment and expertise in building relationships with parents and community
