Summary

The Shipper is responsible for palletizing products, picking orders/assembling orders, printing invoices and route summary sheets inventory control. Egg boxes to be accurately stamped prior to shipping. Loading and unloading of trucks. This work can be repetitive, fast paced and physically demanding. Computer skills are a requirement for this position.

Schedule

The work schedule for this position is Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch and two 15-minute breaks. Weekend and holiday work may be required based on operational requirements.

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure that boxes are labeled correctly, and cartons are coded with proper dates
  • Palletize/Record and organize graded cooler for daily shipping requirements
  • Record daily production into graded cooler
  • Create invoices for egg orders
  • Record detailed pick list providing accurate data
  • Responsible for inputting data into ERP system for traceability
  • Verifying quantities of product shipped
  • Receiving shipments and matching purchase orders
  • Loading and unloading of eggs and packing supplies with an electric pallet jack
  • Cleaning and sweeping of buildings as required
  • Protect the organization’s value by keeping all protected and proprietary information confidential
  • Practice biosecurity protocol
  • Follow all safety processes and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

  • Grade 12 or equivalent preferred

  • Strong commitment to health & safety

  • Ability to lift up to 14kgs (30lbs) for extended periods

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple demands

  • Experience in the agricultural industry preferable

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Pleasant, outgoing personality, with a friendly positive approach to customer service

  • Working in refrigerated area for extended period of time

Working Conditions

The position operates indoors in a production environment that is physically demanding, fast paced with repetitive work that requires standing for long periods of time. The work environment may be cooler in certain sections of the facility, with staff working in refrigerated areas. Proper safety footwear is required and supplied with additional PPE available upon request.
