JOB SUMMARY: Lantic is currently recruiting for the position of Store Supervisor/Buyer at our Montreal refinery. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the incumbent acts as a strategic leader responsible for all purchasing, inventory management, and operational maintenance support activities for the Montreal and Toronto sites. They play a central role in the store's transition towards a Maintenance 4.0 model by implementing structured, digitalized, and performance-driven processes. The Supervisor works closely with the maintenance teams to improve planning, equipment reliability, and overall operational performance. They mentor their team, establish rigorous standards, and ensure the continuous improvement of supply and store management processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, coach, and motivate the Store team by ensuring rigorous operational management, including the planning and execution of work preparation, kitting, and staging activities, to effectively support the maintenance teams and guarantee timely parts availability;
  • Implement and develop an integrated maintenance store model by structuring preparation and kitting processes, while ensuring the standardization and digitization of inventories (barcodes, CMMS, integrated systems) to improve operational efficiency and reduce losses;
  • Optimize inventory management by balancing availability and reducing tied-up capital, controlling stock levels, eliminating obsolete parts, standardizing components, and ensuring data reliability in the systems;
  • Manage all procurement activities by negotiating advantageous agreements, developing volume strategies and framework contracts, and identifying opportunities for cost optimization and supplier performance;
  • Manage the tendering process by defining requirements, analyzing proposals, and recommending the best options based on operational, financial, and strategic considerations;
  • Ensure close collaboration with the maintenance team to plan parts requirements, support major shutdowns, improve work planning, and contribute to equipment reliability;
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality, and food safety standards, actively participate in the HACCP system, and ensure the conformity of received materials.
  • Monitor performance indicators related to the store, kitting, inventory, and costs, and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing operational efficiency and overall performance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Relevant college or university degree (operations management, logistics, procurement, administration, industrial engineering, or related field);
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in a similar position;
  • Bilingualism (French and English, spoken and written) to be able to communicate with our English- and French-speaking sites;
  • Inspiring and structured leadership;

  • Strategic thinking and a continuous improvement focus;
  • Operational rigor and attention to detail;
