Role Overview

A Mine Maintenance Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability and availability of mining equipment by developing, coordinating, and optimizing maintenance schedules. Their primary responsibility is to create short-term and long-term maintenance plans that align with operational demands while minimizing equipment downtime and production interruptions. They work closely with maintenance supervisors, planners, and operations teams to prioritize work orders, allocate resources effectively, and ensure that parts, labor, and tools are available when needed. Using tools such as Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (4Site) and Microsoft 365, the scheduler tracks maintenance activities, monitors compliance with schedules, and updates plans based on equipment performance and changing site conditions. They also play a key role in shutdown and turnaround planning, coordinating with multiple departments to execute critical maintenance activities efficiently. Overall, the scheduler ensures that maintenance is performed safely, on time, and with minimal impact on mining operations

Core Responsibilities

  • Chair weekly scheduling meeting with all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for priority scheduling and a rolling four-week maintenance plan.
  • Manage capacity resource requirements for the four-week rolling maintenance plan.
  • Develop and print completed work packages for the teams.
  • Effective utilization of the 4SITE Maintenance Management System within the area of responsibility.
  • Compile, update and distribute backlog reports.
  • Review and prioritize maintenance work request with other team members.
  • Complete appropriate paper work and entries into 4SITE as required daily
  • Coordinate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure work orders are complete, properly scoped, and resourced.
  • Plan maintenance in a way that minimizes disruption to production.
  • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, environment and community.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong customer focus.
  • Ability to function as part of a multi-functional team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, CMMS, and Strong MS Project skills.
  • Previous experience in a heavy industrial environment would be advantageous.
