About St. Matthew’s Elementary School is a vibrant and growing Catholic school located in the central Fleetwood area of Surrey. Founded in 2012, our school serves approximately 240 students from Kindergarten through Grade 7 in a modern, purpose-built facility designed to support innovative teaching and collaborative learning.
Situated on the same campus as Holy Cross Regional High School and within walking distance of the future Surrey–Langley SkyTrain Extension, St. Matthew’s offers a convenient and well-connected location.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Grade 7 teacher who is excited to guide students through their final year of elementary school—academically, socially, and spiritually—as they prepare for the transition to high school.
The Successful Candidate Will Demonstrate
- A commitment to excellence in Catholic education
- A strong understanding of the BC Curriculum
- The ability to foster a dynamic, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment
- A collaborative approach to working with colleagues and families
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school through extracurricular activities
Preference Will Be Given To Candidates Who Possess
- Active membership in a Catholic parish
- Experience preparing students for the Sacrament of Confirmation
- A demonstrated commitment to faith formation and Catholic identity within the classroom
Requirements
- Certification with the British Columbia Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB), in good standing

On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply. Our major hiring season is in April for the following school year, but we recommend that you apply now as we receive an influx of applications.

All schools teach the prescribed ministry of education curriculum. Teachers are paid according to the qualifications and years of experience. Teachers are also eligible for the Group Benefits Program that provides medical, dental, other extended health benefits, plus a defined contribution (DC) Group Pension Plan.
Teachers interested in making a career with CISVA should apply to the Superintendent's Office. Support staff, including Education Assistants, should apply directly to the individual schools.
