LabTest Certification Inc. is a Canadian-based Testing, Certification, and Inspection Body with head office in Delta, BC (Canada), and additional locations in Richmond, BC, Oakville, ON (Canada), and Las Vegas, NV (USA).

A well-established company with 20+ years in the TIC industry and locations worldwide is looking for a Testing Technician to join our team.

In this role, you will perform hands-on laboratory testing and equipment setup to support product compliance and certification activities. You will work closely with senior technicians and engineers to set up test equipment, conduct laboratory measurements, document results, and ensure testing activities meet applicable technical standards and internal quality procedures.

The role supports operations at our Delta location and includes a training and supervision period to ensure the successful candidate is comfortable operating the required test equipment and executing test procedures independently.

If you have the following, you may be the person we are looking for:

  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field preferred
  • 1+ year of experience working in a technical, electrical, or laboratory environment is preferred
  • Strong interest in laboratory testing, measurement systems, technical problem solving and product compliance testing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to follow detailed procedures and maintain accurate technical documentation
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a laboratory environment
  • Familiarity with product compliance standards such as FCC, ICES, IEC, CSA is considered an asset
  • Experience working with laboratory instruments or electronic measurement equipment is considered an asset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365
  • Experience working with laboratory information systems, internal databases or test management tools is considered an asset

If hired, what will you be doing at LabTest?

As a Testing Technician, key duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Preparing laboratory test setups according to established test plans and procedures
  • Conducting product testing in accordance with applicable regulatory standards and laboratory procedures
  • Collaborating with Project Holders and lab leadership to coordinate testing schedules and project priorities
  • Recording, compiling, and maintaining test data sheets and supporting documentation
  • Reading and evaluating products against applicable standards including FCC, ICES, IEC, EN, and CSA requirements
  • Supporting witness testing activities at client facilities or third-party laboratories when required
  • Assisting with the improvement of test setups and laboratory processes to enhance testing efficiency
  • Maintaining laboratory organization and assisting with routine equipment checks and calibration coordination
  • Communicating test progress and any technical issues to senior technicians, engineers, or laboratory leadership
  • Maintaining sample databases and equipment databases as assigned
  • Supporting laboratory organization, housekeeping, and equipment readiness
  • Completing administrative tasks related to testing projects and laboratory operations
  • Ensuring testing assignments are completed systematically, on time, and in accordance with laboratory quality procedures
  • Following laboratory safety procedures and quality management system requirements
  • Supporting continuous improvement of laboratory workflows and documentation practices

This position requires on-site work in a laboratory environment and may involve fixed late shifts to support testing operations and equipment scheduling.

A training and onboarding period will be provided to ensure the successful candidate develops the technical skills and confidence required to perform testing activities independently.
