Position Overview
As the Procurement & Logistics Intern at Cabot Cape Breton, you will gain hands-on experience in your field of study by working closely with our Logistics Coordinator and Manager, assisting in Shipping/Receiving across all departments both internally and externally withing the organization. Your role involves organizing incoming and outgoing shipments, verifying quantities and quality of items, coordinating with suppliers and internal departments, and distributing received goods across property to operational outlets and workspaces as required. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are essential, ensuring inventory accuracy and efficient logistics operations. You will maintain clear records, handle documentation, and assist in managing inventory levels. By ensuring the smooth flow of goods, you play a vital part in supporting various departments within Cabot Cape Breton, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the resort's operations.

-**Organization:**Take satisfaction in maintaining organized inventory systems, tracking shipments, and ensuring accurate records of received and dispatched items. -**Attention to Detail:**Enjoy checking orders, inspecting items for quality and quantity, and ensuring that shipments match the provided documentation. -**Physical Work:**Thrive in a role that involves physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and organizing items. Enjoy hands-on work and being active throughout the day. -**Problem-Solving:**Find fulfilment in resolving discrepancies or issues with shipments, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of goods to the appropriate departments. -**Team Collaboration:**Appreciate working closely with colleagues, suppliers, and other departments. Enjoy clear communication and cooperation to maintain smooth shipping and receiving processes.
Preferred qualifications and skills:
- Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia Driver’s License is required.
- High school diploma and/or experience in a related field preferred.
- Experience with information systems and inventory management an asset
Requirements of the role you should be aware of:
- Based on the nature of our business and the service we provide to our guests, you must consent to a criminal background check as a condition of employment and an additional criminal background check every two years.
- As a seasonal resort business, you can anticipate a schedule that will involve day, evening, night, and weekend work.
- Ability to spend long hours moving around, walking, sitting, standing, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling and/or lifting.
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or otherwise move objects.
- Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally to manoeuvre, push or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to ascend or descend stairs and ramps on a frequent basis
- Constant focus and repetitive work are to be expected
- Ability to manage timeline pressures and constraints
- Working outdoors occasionally in all weather conditions
- On occasion you may need to drive for long periods of time
