Heavy Duty Mechanic - Apprentice - Rotational
About the role
ROLE STATEMENT:
The Heavy Duty Mechanic – Apprentice will be a member of the Maintenance Department responsible for daily repairs and preventative maintenance of Calfrac’s well servicing equipment. Reporting to the Senior Maintenance Manager, the Heavy Duty Mechanic - Apprentice will focus on diagnosing and repairing equipment in a timely and effective manner.
-Please note: Rotational Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice positions are availableonly year 3 and year 4 Apprentices

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Work safely in accordance with all company safety policies, procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements
- Repair and maintain all Calfrac equipment in a timely and effective manner
- Ensure that all paperwork is completed both accurately and on time
- Verify repairs and ensure they are completed and documented
- Complete maintenance inspections
- Record all equipment deficiencies
- Remote field work may be required
- Must attend all pre job meetings and attend safety meetings when required
- Participate in equipment modifications, campaigns & recalls
KEY ATTRIBUTES AND COMPETENCIES:
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts (shift work, day shift, night shift)
- Follow and enforce safe work procedures, codes, and regulations
- Energetic self-starter, able to work in a dynamic environment
- Able to handle multiple tasks by prioritizing and maintaining a high attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Work and inspire others to work at high performance levels
- Work under physically demanding circumstances
- Knowledge of coiled tubing, fracturing, and truck and trailer an asset but not required
- Diagnostic and trouble shooting skills an asset
- Able to read and understand equipment and vehicle repair manuals
- This position is considered to be a Safety Sensitive Position and may require additional screening
- This position has bona fide physical requirements and may require additional screening (please refer to the applicable Physical Demands Profile)
SCHEDULE:
- Rotational: Fourteen (14) days on, Fourteen (14) days off
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Working towards completion of the Journeyperson Heavy Duty, Millwright or Automotive Certification.
- High School diploma preferred
- Certified to complete CVIP / DOT inspections would be considered an asset
