Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. is seeking an Experienced or Senior Supplier Quality Representative, reporting to the Supplier Quality Regional Manager, working out of the Toronto, ON office. The Supplier Quality Representative will support D1-4426 Special Processes on one of our regional teams in North America.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead, plan, organize, and conduct onsite audits of D1-4426 approved processors
- Apply knowledge of materials, and special processes to assess supplier capability and capacity to perform and comply with Boeing specifications, engineering documents or other contractual and regulatory requirements
- Apply technical expertise to monitor, coach, or recommend improvements to suppliers to develop and maintain internal processes that are repeatable, cost effective, and environmentally friendly
- Conduct training and coordinate company initiatives to improve supplier performance and productivity
- Lead, plan and conduct audits and assessments of complex supplier systems, processes and products
- Strong understanding of root cause and corrective action analysis and implementation of preventative action
- Provide education and coaching on quality systems, regulatory compliance issues and company initiatives
- Assesses the capability and capacity of suppliers to perform current or potential future work
- Develop training materials and other resources to support improvements in supplier performance and productivity
- Identify risks and hold suppliers accountable for the mitigation of those risks
- Create presentations and presents to senior management at suppliers and Boeing
This position requires to travel up to 75% of the time, performing onsite audits and advanced quality improvements at our approved processors.
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at suppliers’ office locations. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management
- 5+ years of experience performing product, process or compliance audits of Quality Management Systems
- Experience with root cause and corrective action analysis and implementation of acceptable preventative action
- Must be able to travel up to 75% of the time domestically and internationally, must hold or have the ability to hold a valid passport
- Use of a personal vehicle, when required for company business, would be reimbursed at mileage rate per applicable company policy
- Must be legally able to work in Canada
- Individual must not pose a risk for safeguarding of controlled goods
- Must be eligible to handle US export-controlled data
Preferred Qualifications (Education/Experience):
- 8+ years of experience working in Quality, Supplier Quality or Supplier Management
- 5+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test)
- Experience with special processes (heat treatment of metals, welding, brazing, chemical processes/finishes and coatings, composite hardware manufacturing processes, metal bonding processes, non-destructive testing) and/or special process auditing/ heat treatment of metals, welding, brazing, chemical processes/finishes and coatings, composite hardware manufacturing processes, metal bonding processes, non-destructive testing)
- Experience working with various quality tools and processes such as FMEA, control plans, SPC and MSA
- Experience for ISO9001, AS9100 and AS9145
- Lean or lean six sigma experience (leading or co-leading teams with value stream mapping and shop floor standard work events)
- Knowledge of project management best practices and processes
Additional Information:
This requisition is for a locally hired position in Canada. The employer is Boeing Canada. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
