About the role
BC Tree Fruits is looking for an Accountant to join our team at the Oliver production facility. This is a hands-on, plant-based role supporting the day-to-day accounting needs of a busy fruit packing facility. You'll work on-site in Oliver with the support of a broader accounting team based in Ontario, making this a great fit for someone who is self-sufficient, organized, and comfortable being the local financial point of contact.
This role is ideal for an experienced, detail-oriented accounting professional who can manage the transactional side of our operation and keep things running smoothly.
What You'll Be Doing Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and timely completion Support payroll processing for plant employees in coordination with the Ontario accounting team Maintain accurate financial records and assist with reconciliations and month-end tasks Liaise with plant management and the Ontario accounting team to resolve discrepancies and support reporting needs Provide general accounting support as required in a production and manufacturing setting
What We're Looking For Experience in an accounting role, ideally within a production, manufacturing, or agriculture-related environment Solid working knowledge of AP, AR, and payroll processes Familiarity with GST/HST and PST compliance and filing requirements Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) Ability to work independently and manage priorities with a remote team structure Strong attention to detail and a practical, problem-solving approach Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred
