People Operations - Recruitment Specialist
People Operations Specialist – Recruitment Specialist is an integral part of Jealous Fruits’ People Operations team success. They will assist with the overall operations of the department, playing a key role in the local recruitment and selection process, participating in the onboarding process and training and development of the full employees’ life cycle.
People Operations Recruitment Specialist is responsible for the full cycle recruitment cycle, employer branding, and recruitment strategies. This role plays a critical part in sourcing, attracting and hiring qualified local employees, while supporting hiring managers and ensuring a seamless candidate experience.
Key Responsibilities
The following key responsibilities are listed below within the scope of the position followed by specific activities associated with each responsibility. This position may require the individual to perform additional duties as required.
Recruitment
- Prepare and posts job advertisements both internally and externally on various job boards.
- Participate in recruitment and networking events (job fairs, conferences) representing the company brand and culture to attract and select the best candidates.
- Actively source new recruitment channels, assist in recruitment strategies, design and run high-impact recruitment campaigns that increase the number of local hires while ensuring that we find new and efficient ways to select the best candidates.
- In coordination with the department managers, sets up interviews for short-listed candidates, participates in the interview with the managers as required, verifies reference checks, confirms start dates for selected candidates, handles rejection correspondence with the unsuccessful candidates.
- Prepare employment letters for selected candidates as directed.
- Send staff announcements introducing the new employees and their contact information and advising staff departures.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for all local arrivals.
- Manages criminal records checks for new hires.
- Conduct exit interviews to collect insights and improve retention.
- Review and update job descriptions for all positions before posted.
- Supports the needs of the People Operations team by helping others when necessary.
- Participate in the onboarding and safety training of new employees.
Dayforce HRM contribution
- Manage the recruitment page in Dayforce
- Actively improve the onboarding and orientation process for local hires.
- Assist with Dayforce HR import of hires.
- Actively find ways to improve our processes and use the HRM to our advantage.
- Create and run reports that can be used to improve processes.
Administration
- Manage confidential employee records, ensuring all records are up to date and accurate.
- Open communication with Payroll department regarding employees’ start and departure dates, and all other relevant information.
- Support in the review of existing and development of new policies.
- Participate in the Health and Wellness and JHSC committees.
- Maintains effective communication with all members of the People Operations department.
Specific Skills:
- Effective organizational, problem-solving, project management skills.
- Excellent leadership, written and oral communication skills.
- Strong time management skills. Ability in decision making and establishing priorities.
- Strong computer skills – word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations.
- Previous Dayforce experience is an asset
- Interpersonal skills, ability to build and maintain professional working relationships with all skate holders.
- Class 5 driver’s license, and clean drivers abstract.
Knowledge:
- 3+ years’ experience in full-cycle recruiting process
