Company Bio

Our client is a well established environmental and regulatory consulting firm supporting complex, regulated projects across Western Canada. The business helps clients execute work from concept through close out across environmental planning and assessment, regulatory approvals, stakeholder engagement, construction support, environmental inspection, mitigation, reclamation, and abandonment. Backed by a broader platform of complementary service lines, the company delivers integrated land, environmental, regulatory, and execution support across major infrastructure projects. This role has been created to strengthen senior operational leadership, build greater delivery discipline, and support growth across a high volume of regulated work in Alberta and surrounding markets.

Compensation

  • Base salary of $160,000 to $190,000.
  • Bonus tied to 20% of EBITDA.
  • Long term incentive through phantom shares equal to 15% of enterprise value.
  • 4 weeks of vacation.
  • Company vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, permitting, and execution across regulated infrastructure projects with a strong focus on environmental and operational delivery.
  • Act as a senior operational leader and serve as a key partner to the CEO on priority files, client delivery, and team execution.
  • Own end to end project delivery from early planning through construction support, restoration, and reclamation close out.
  • Oversee complex environmental and regulatory submissions and ensure work is executed in line with provincial requirements and client expectations.
  • Integrate land, environmental, and regulatory work into one coordinated delivery model with clear milestones, accountability, and decision points.
  • Direct environmental planning and assessment work required to support applications, field readiness, compliance, and construction execution.
  • Lead construction support and environmental monitoring programs to ensure commitments are implemented properly and documented clearly.
  • Maintain defensible project records across submissions, correspondence, field documentation, and close out packages.
  • Manage regulator questions, deficiencies, and follow up items with speed, clarity, and sound judgement.
  • Lead stakeholder and Indigenous engagement execution and ensure commitments are tracked, delivered, and documented.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for operational and delivery risk and resolve issues decisively.
  • Build, lead, and develop multidisciplinary teams across environmental, regulatory, land, and field delivery functions.
  • Establish forecasting, reporting, and execution rhythms that improve visibility into schedule, risk, and delivery performance.
  • Partner with executive leadership on operational planning, growth readiness, governance, and accountability.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in environmental operations, construction management, environmental project delivery, or regulated infrastructure delivery within Western Canada.
  • Direct experience with complex provincial applications, approvals, and regulated project delivery.
  • Strong working knowledge of Alberta regulatory requirements related to infrastructure, environmental compliance, and reclamation.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects from application and permitting through construction support and reclamation close out.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate route selection, right of way considerations, environmental planning, and regulatory execution into one coordinated delivery plan.
  • Experience with watercourse crossing approvals, soil handling plans, mitigation implementation, and reclamation planning.
  • Ability to operate credibly with regulators, clients, stakeholders, and internal teams in high stakes project environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams of 10 or more in field intensive, multidisciplinary delivery settings.
  • Strong client facing leadership and sound judgement in technical and operational discussions.
  • Strong operating discipline with the ability to run execution rhythms, track status, and hold teams accountable to deadlines and deliverables.
  • Strong written documentation capability and consistent attention to defensible records.
  • Professional designation is an asset, including PMP, P.Eng., P.Biol., or equivalent.
  • Valid driver’s licence and ability to travel as required.
