The Opportunity
NuVista Mental Health is seeking a Volunteer or Student to support neurofeedback marketing and engagement initiatives for our Ottawa clinic.
This opportunity is ideal for students pursuing education or seeking careers in marketing, social media content creation, communications, digital design, graphic design, healthcare marketing, or related fields who are seeking practical experience in an organizational setting related to mental health services.
The individual will contribute to a variety of administrative, organizational, marketing, content creation, and project-based initiatives while gaining exposure to the day-to-day operations of a growing national mental health organization and specialized neurofeedback program.
This placement is intended to provide meaningful experiential learning in a professional environment and may support students seeking volunteer or organizational experience hours for graduate or professional program applications.
This Role May Include
Administrative and Organizational Support
Collaborating with the Neurofeedback Operations Manager and Marketing team to support Ottawa neurofeedback engagement initiatives
Supporting content planning, workflow organization, and administrative coordination related to neurofeedback marketing
Creating clean infographics, educational graphics, and social media materials using Canva or similar tools
Developing informational and personable content for posts, reels, and short-form videos
Completing market research and collecting post engagement data to support social media growth and operational/marketing initiatives
Undertakingadditionalnon-clinical support duties as needed
Learning and Professional Exposure
Gaining insight into the operations and marketing needs of a professional mental health organization
Developing content creation, communication, digital design, and marketing coordination skills
Learning about professional standards, confidentiality, and ethical conduct in healthcare marketing environments
Working collaboratively with clinical, operational, and marketing team members on neurofeedback engagement initiatives
Important Notes
To maintain professional, ethical, and brand standards
This is a non-clinical volunteer position
Volunteers will notprovideprofessional advice or opinions to clients, prospective clients, or members of the public
Volunteers will not independently access, collect, share, or handle sensitive client information without authorization and supervision
Volunteers will not create, publish, or respond to public-facing content on behalf ofNuVistawithout review and approval from the Neurofeedback Operations Manager and/or Marketing Team
All content must align withNuVista’sbranding, privacy standards, professional expectations, and approved messaging
Volunteers must not use client stories, testimonials, photos, videos, oridentifyingdetails unless formally approved through theappropriate consentand internal review process
Neurofeedback-related content must remain educational and informational and should not make guarantees, clinical claims, or promises about neurofeedback training outcomes
This role does not involve activities requiring professional licensure or certification
Qualifications
We welcome applications from students or emerging professionals with an interest in marketing, communications, social media content creation, digital design, graphic design, healthcare marketing, or organizational operations.
Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate
Strong communication, organization, and content planning skills
Professionalism, maturity, creativity, and attention to detail
Interest in marketing, social media content creation, digital design, graphic design, or healthcare communications
Ability tomaintainconfidentiality and professionalism
Comfort working independently and collaboratively with operations and marketing teams
Proficiencywith Canva, Microsoft Office, and virtual communication platforms; digital or graphic design experience is an asset
Experiencefilming and editing social media videos/reels,creating clean infographics, social media posts,reels, personable videos,or engagement reports considered an asset
Position Structure
Volunteer placement
Approximately5-8hours per week
Flexible scheduling based on organizational needs and volunteer availability
Successful applicants will be required to complete
a confidentiality agreement
onboarding and orientation requirements
a Criminal Record Check and/or Vulnerable Sector Check
