As the only physiotherapist, you will work closely with the nursing teams, physicians, therapy assistant and occupational therapist. This position provides high level of independence and case management. Support as needed will be available from Grande Prairie.\nThe hospital boasts an excellent interdisciplinary team, and you will have the opportunity to work closely with the physicians and nursing staff as well as the other Allied Health professionals. You will provide all PT services including inpatients, outpatients, LTC and some Home Care.\n\n### Description:\n\nAs a Physiotherapist II, you will provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services. You will provide supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals. You will be making day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up. You will make decisions and advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area to ensure safe, efficient and effective client care. You will ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines.\nYou will be coordinating the day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitoring care delivery, identifying service needs and assisting other medical staff with caseload management, completing chart audits and providing follow-up and feedback to staff. You will participate in program development and operational planning and representing the department on committees or programs. You will make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers.\n\n### Responsibilities\n\n- Provide coordination of physiotherapy and other allied health clinical services.\n- Supervise students and team members as assigned.\n- Work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team providing leadership to other healthcare professionals.\n- Make day-to-day clinical decisions on patient/family needs regarding assessment, intervention, discharge and follow-up.\n- Advise team members on complex clinical cases and provide clinical leadership within the program or service area.\n- Ensure physiotherapy practice is evidence based and in alignment with Alberta legislation and regulations, professional standards of practice, code of ethics and AHS policy and guidelines.\n- Coordinate day-to-day operations of an assigned service area and monitor care delivery.\n- Identify service needs and assist other medical staff with caseload management.\n- Complete chart audits and provide follow-up and feedback to staff.\n- Participate in program development and operational planning and represent the department on committees or programs.\n- Make decisions on staffing level requirements, workflow, caseload priorities in collaboration with managers and other healthcare providers.\n\n### Required Qualifications:\n\n- Master's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program or bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program and related experience.\n- Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.\n\n### Additional Required Qualifications:\n\n- Licensed by the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.\n- Excellent communication skills and collaborative skills required.\n- Must be able to use considerable independent judgment and initiative.\n- Computer skills including MS Office, and experience with electronic charting are essential.\n- Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) required.\n\n### Preferred Qualifications:\n\n- As Required.
