Job Summary The Investment Solutions Group (ISG) delivers advanced technological solutions to HOOPP traders, portfolio managers, and cross functional teams including Risk Management and Finance. As a Senior Business Analyst in the ISG Risk and Analytics division, you will work on projects that span the entire trade, portfolio and financial risk management lifecycle. The team delivers and supports both internal and external valuation engines, compliance, risk and reporting solutions across Finance, Risk and Investment Management functions.
What You Will Do
- Be part of the Risk Technology team and help guide the product direction and delivery
- Collaborate with senior business partners to explore challenges and co-create solutions that meet their needs
- Guide and support the Product Owner and Solution Architect in developing and realizing the product vision (develop roadmaps, manage scope, define minimal viable products, prioritize backlog, create stories to incorporate user and technical feedback etc.)
- Work with Developers on specifications and technical builds
- Hands on analysis and delivery of complex Risk solutions across a comprehensive set of asset classes (Equity, Fixed Income, Credit, Derivatives, FX, OTC products etc.)
- Lead product delivery within and across department
- Research and bring new and innovative Risk and Technology ideas to the table
- Learn, support and improve existing Risk solutions
- Develop and foster relationships with HOOPP business partners (Traders, Portfolio managers, Risk, Finance, Security Operations, Data Management) and other Investment Technology teams to capture requirements, prototype solutions, provide demos, test and support the final deliverable
- Propose innovative workflows, technology, use cases
What You Bring
- 6+ years of experience within Capital Markets in risk measurement, reporting, valuation, statistical analysis and quantitative work
- 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst/ Business Systems Analyst with exposure to solution visioning, analysis, solution design, sizing, building/implementing, QA, prod promotions, documentation and production support
- Experience with Python, SQL and data modeling
- Practical knowledge of investment products, investment strategies, portfolio theory, valuation models, risk models and finance theory.
- Good understanding of front-, middle- and back-office processes
- Strong analytical skills, communication skills (written & oral) and attention to detail, with an openness to learning and collaboration
- Proven ability to interact with all levels of the organization confidently and effectively and to build strong working relationships in a team-oriented, collaborate environment while producing solutions.
- Curiosity about business processes and problems, always looking for opportunities to build innovative solutions or enhance processes to delight our customers.
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage complex processes that cut across Divisional business units in a diplomatic and professional manner.
- Comfort working in a dynamic, collaborative team environment where priorities may evolve
- Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, Statistics or Computer Science; CFA or FRM designation is considered an asset
