HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Work in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Cementation.
  • Be aware of any health and safety hazards or infractions and report same to Health and Safety Department.
  • Participate in the office safety program.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Health and Safety Duties

  • Work closely with, and provide daily support to site management and personnel.
  • Assist TrainingRecruitment Manager and Skills Trainers in the development of training aids and exams for all training programs offered.
  • Assist project teams in the enrolment of any Cementation employee in client required training programs.
  • Coordinate First Aid and C.P.R training and refresher training for all Supervision.
  • Provide clerical assistance to HealthSafety department including scanning, filing, copying, and faxing.
  • Gather, sort and ensure accurate completion of all Common Core Forms, and prepare them for signature to forward to the Ministry.
  • Request, obtain Modular training transcripts from the Ministry and file accordingly.
  • Arrange for any required NORCAT training, and prepare and supply WHMIS and Fall Arrest training cards.
  • Maintain all training files/training matrix and update on Mindoka.
  • Maintain and administer the Safety Award Program.
  • Receive and distribute HealthSafety department mail.
  • Maintain and update HealthSafety forms as required.
  • Assist with the administration of projects.
  • Where necessary, assist in compiling data for various reports.
  • Type forms, letters, reports, and memos as necessary.
  • Organize and attend meetings as required.
  • Other work as may be deemed necessary to the HealthSafety department.

Building Maintenance Duties

  • Respond to doorbell and ensure building visitors sign in and meet with appropriate Cementation personnel.
  • Ensures hot work permits are completed by contractors.
  • Reviews safety guidelines with contractors and track accordingly.
  • Ensures visitors receive the appropriate visitor orientation and the checklist is complete.
  • Monitors building maintenance log and responds to tickets.
  • Liaises with service providers to schedule maintenance work to be completed.
  • Sends out general announcements regarding work being completed.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position would not normally have the requirement for travel.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • None

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Relevant post-secondary diploma and/or degree in a business field or related office experience.
  • 3 - 5 years office experience.
  • Experience with training programs and records keeping/document control is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the mining industry is considered an asset.
  • Experience in building maintenance considered an asset.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGEABILITIES

  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with other departments, key business partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe products.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Manage confidential communications and information.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Superior keyboarding skills and accuracy with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and adhere to deadlines.
  • Manage multiple tasks, establish priorities.
