As a Credit Advisor, you will play a key role in delivering a best-in-class member experience through-out the loans application process. The Credit Advisor gathers all borrower and credit application information required to co-ordinate, verify and analyze credit applications and ensures consistent, objective and sound credit decisions in a high-volume environment within prescribed service level agreements. The Credit Advisor drives smart growth through the review, analysis and assessment of borrowers’ financial information following established policy, guidelines and procedure to safeguard our members and Prospera Credit Union.

  • Review, analyze and verify mortgage application information and documents including the analysis of financial statements, income documentation, property assessments and appraisals and real estate contracts.
  • Approve mortgages and lines of credit within established lending guidelines and limits and ensure consistent, objective and sound credit decisions in a high-volume environment.
  • Act as a knowledge-based resource for the Advice Centres and Prospera’s mortgage Broker Partners.
  • Build and Maintain relationships across the Advice Centre Network and with mortgage broker partners to form a deep understanding of borrower needs through collaborating on solutions to meet the financial needs of our members.
  • Continuously monitor, maintain and prioritize Advice Centre and broker originated applications accurately and in real time to ensure Advice Centre and brokers expectations and deadlines are met, and service level agreements are achieved.

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2-3 years Mortgage Lending Experience with superior understanding of complex mortgage applications.
  • Ability to read, analyze and comprehend financial statements, tax returns and real estate documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work in a high-volume environment while demonstrating sound judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to prioritize applications in a fast-paced environment and meet expectations and deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication skills, conveying messages in a clear, concise and professional manner.

  • Prospera offers a total compensation package of base salary plus incentives that is market competitive and reviewed annually. Our expected starting salary for this role is $62,000 to $77,500 based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity.
