Shape Procurement into a Strategic Driver of Value at CPA Ontario
CPA Ontario is seeking a Director, Procurement to lead procurement and strengthen vendor management, ensuring best value across cost, quality, and service. This newly created role will be instrumental in building a robust procurement function that aligns with organizational goals, supports growth, and drives operational resilience. Reporting to the VP, Enterprise Risk Management, the Director will oversee procurement operations, manage contracts, support vendor management, ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards, and facilitate vendor risk management, while driving continuous improvement and strategic cost savings
What You’ll Be Doing:
Building Strategy & Best Practices – Developing and implementing a procurement strategy, policies, and procedures aligned with organizational goals to reduce costs, improve lead times, and mitigate risks.
Managing Contracts & Compliance – Overseeing the full contract lifecycle, creating summaries and risk assessments, maintaining a comprehensive database, and partnering with Legal and the CISO to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and alignment with company policies.
Strengthening Vendor Management – Strengthening vendor evaluation, selection, onboarding, and RFP/RFI processes, while serving as the primary contact for contractual matters and fostering collaborative vendor relationships.
Supporting Contract Negotiations – Supporting contract negotiations to secure favourable terms and minimize exposure.
Driving Performance & Insights – Establishing KPIs, conduct market analysis, monitor vendor capabilities, and provide executives with actionable insights to inform decision-making and drive procurement effectiveness.
Promoting Innovation & Sustainability – Implementing sustainable and ethical sourcing practices, champion cross-functional collaboration, and lead special projects to advance procurement as a strategic enabler.
Special Projects - Leading special projects and other duties as assigned.
Who You Are:
An experienced procurement leader with 10+ years in procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management, including leadership roles.
A strategic thinker and strong negotiator with financial acumen, proven ability to deliver cost savings, and expertise managing complex, large-scale projects.
Skilled in contract management and risk assessment, with experience partnering with Legal and Information Security on compliance, governance, and third-party risks.
A collaborative communicator with exceptional stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing and building trusted relationships across all levels.
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and a Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
