Horizon Health Network in beautiful New Brunswick is looking for a Manager, Space Management & Planning to join our team!

Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a Manager of Space Management and Planning. The Manager of Space Management Planning will support the Director, Facilities, Engineering and Property Management and serve Horizon facilities in Area 3, Fredericton, and Upper River Valley. The primary focus of this position is working collaboratively with Administrative Directors, Managers, and all stakeholders to assess, plan and expedite appropriate accommodations for both clinical and administrative spaces.

Who you are

You have a minimum of 3 years experience in space planning, facilities management or similar fields and have a diploma or degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Facilities Planning, Real Estate, or a related field.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, BlueBeam or other space planning software is an asset.
  • knowledge of building codes, fire and life safety standards, and accessibility requirements.
  • Knowledge of and practical work experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, planning and teambuilding skills.
  • Experience in planning health facility projects would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated health programming, graphic and presentation skills.
  • Good work record.
  • Ability to attend work on a regular basis.
  • Physically capable of performing all job duties assigned including light to medium lifting and moving.
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.

Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.

What you will do

  • Lead/Chair the Local Area Space and Project Planning Committee(s)
  • Prepare Functional Space Programs In collaboration with managers and directors for approved changes to program or service delivery.
  • Work with Programs, Departments, and Services to plan appropriate spaces and define project scopes to meet client needs
  • Apply a variety of space strategies to support the effective and efficient utilization and allocation of space to assist in the delivery of all healthcare services
  • Proactively and strategically plan for space requirements to meet both immediate and long term approved growth strategies.
  • Identify strategic solutions to address significant existing space deficiencies
  • Intake and manage Space Requests through a SharePoint database submitted by programs & departments
  • Consolidate and integrate programs and services where appropriate.
  • Maintain standards and processes for space management.
  • Manage the inventory of existing facility spaces
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, documents, and research activities as directed.
  • Create and address Megamation Work Orders in collaboration with Facilities Management, for requests that require space modification or a functional change.
  • Assist in the planning of Capital Projects to define and acquire appropriate space when programs need to be displaced for construction activities
  • Inventory all furnishings and equipment for relocations and projects as assigned.
  • Create Furniture and equipment layouts in AutoCAD or Revu Bluebeam as assigned
  • Organize and schedule internal and external resources in the planning on program/department moves and minor renovation projects, in collaboration with Facilities, Engineering and Property Management team.
  • Collaborate with Facilities, Engineering and Property Management team members to review and complete Infrastructure Project Request Forms.
  • Support in the managing of wayfinding and signage planning, with Facilities Management team members
  • Lead the Infrastructure Project scoring process at committee meetings to determine priority list for Minor Renovation Budget spend.
  • Travelling is required within Area 3 to all facilities.
  • All other related duties as required.
