About The Role WorkPac are seeking a Senior Asset Reliability Engineer to provide technical leadership and engineering oversight across the electricity network. This role focuses on improving long-term reliability, safety, and asset performance through data-driven analysis, root cause investigations, and proactive risk management. The successful candidate will lead reliability initiatives, collaborate with field teams, and embed reliability insights into asset strategies and lifecycle plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support root cause investigations into asset failures and systemic reliability issues
- Act as custodian of the root cause analysis process, ensuring consistency and governance
- Develop corrective and preventative actions to enhance reliability and inform asset strategies
- Provide technical authority and mentoring to engineers and operational staff
- Translate reliability data into actionable recommendations for asset lifecycle planning
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to identify and mitigate systemic reliability and safety risks
- Support emergency works and failure investigations to ensure effective repairs and safety measures
- Develop reliability metrics and KPIs to inform business reporting and strategy
- Champion organisational values and culture principles through leadership and collaboration
Skills And Experience Required
- Bachelors degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline
- Proven experience in asset reliability, maintenance engineering, or fault analysis
- Strong practical understanding of distribution assets and common failure modes
- Demonstrated experience leading or contributing to root cause investigations
- Experience collaborating with field crews and participating in post-failure site investigations
- Sound understanding of risk management, asset condition monitoring, and reliability metrics
- Excellent technical reporting, analytical, and communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant safety legislation and standards
- ACT Professional Engineering Registration or eligibility to obtain (desirable)
