The Associate Director role provides independent second line oversight of RBC’s Liquidity and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book in UK and Europe, in line with the responsibilities set out in RBC’s enterprise policies.

The Associate Director will work very closely with Corporate Treasury London and Treasury Services London to review and challenge processes and proposals. This requires partnering with them to understand the impact of new and changed regulations and to communicate any issues clearly to management.

  • Be able to work within the local and enterprise governance structure and drive changes to gain efficiencies.
  • Produce presentations and communications that accurately summarise GRM concerns and conditions of approvals; be able to present in various committees both on a local and global level.
  • Keep up to date on new regulations and be able to summarise and articulate any concerns and challenge decisions made by Corporate Treasury.
  • Establish and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders to ensure an effective and collaborative work environment.
  • Maintain an organised and up-to-date library of documents for BLSR Europe, including approved local frameworks, policies, assumptions, and regulatory guidance.
  • Diarise upcoming committees and package dates, regulatory discussions and submissions, policy refresh due dates, audit point action plan due dates, and all similar events, and prompt relevant contributors to deliver items to BSLR for review in a timely manner, or for BSLR to submit documents in a timely manner.
