Job Description Summary The primary role of a Recovery Specialist is to manage relationships with our broker partners and borrowers with a focus towards monitoring and controlling the level of risk the business is exposed to from an asset management perspective. Recovery Specialists are trained in all facets of the broader risk management operations. The role is pivotal to the success of this growing business and offers a diversity in work with plenty of opportunity for personal and professional growth.
What You’ll Do Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Effectively manage daily inbound and outbound communication via phone and email while maintaining SLAs for these items
- Manage daily arrears items and monitor activity of accounts within a portfolio
- Collaborate with broker’s/borrowers on early/late term delinquencies by making payment arrangements using a risk based approach
- Issuing cancellation notices and timely follow up to ensure collection of our collateral in a timely manner
- Updating accounts to ensure follow up is accurate and timely and that weekly reports are accurate.
- Ensure FIRST Canada’s delinquency ratio and losses are kept within budget
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have previous commercial unsecured collections experience
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Be self-motivated and proactive
- Strong attention to detail
- Possess an energetic and enthusiastic approach to your work and a desire to go the extra mile in customer service
- Be a strong team player, able to build relationships with team members, internal and external customers
- Solid abstract reasoning skills
- Demonstrate a flexible attitude towards change and the ability to adapt to new situations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office including: Outlook, Excel and Word
Training/Education/Experience Qualifications This position offers training for new graduates to develop their skills and grow professionally
For Non-recent Graduates
- College or University preferred
- 2-3 years of collection experience, preferably with the Financial Services Industry/Insurance
Compensation The estimated hourly rate for this role is $33.34 - 41.03, along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual pay rate may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience AI Disclosure No AI technology is used in the recruitment process
