The People & Equity Division, in partnership with the Technical Services Division, has commenced a capital project to replace the Onboarding 1.0 module with the new SuccessFactors Onboarding (2.0) solution.
This important initiative creates an exciting opportunity for a committed and motivated individual with system testing experience, and a passion for technology and innovation, to participate in a Divisional project team.
Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), and working collaboratively with other operational and/or project leads, the HR Consultant HRIS will be part of the SuccessFactors Onboarding 2.0 project dedicated to upgrading the City’s Onboarding module within the SuccessFactors system. This role requires an understanding of SuccessFactors Employee Central and Onboarding 2.0 modules, system testing and QA methodologies, and recruitment practices at the City.
What will you do?
As an HR Consultant, HRIS supporting the implementation of the SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding module, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and readiness of the solution through structured testing and collaboration. Your responsibilities will include:

Work with the SuccessFactors ONB 2.0 Project Team to understand user requirements and translate them into test strategies, test plans, and test scenarios required to ensure a scalable, robust solution that meets functional and non-functional requirements.

Implement the development and execution of a comprehensive test strategy, aligned with project phases and deliverables.

Conduct functional, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across multiple cycles.

Validate integrations between Onboarding, Recruitment, and Employee Central, including third-party systems.

Understand and apply Agile project methodology and ensure testing activities are aligned with iteration goals and contribute to sprint planning and retrospectives.

Provide detailed testing status reports, defect summaries, and risk assessments to support Go/No-Go decisions, and collaborate with business stakeholders and project leadership to evaluate readiness for deployment.

Work closely with SAP Active Attention, vendor support teams, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and align testing objectives.

Support business users during UAT and provide knowledge transfer and walkthroughs of testing processes and outcomes.

Coordinate Go/No-Go assessments, providing data-driven insights and risk analysis to support deployment decisions.
Key Qualifications:
-
Considerable knowledge of SAP SuccessFactors, particularly Onboarding, Recruitment, and Employee Central modules.

Experience working with SAP Support Services, including SAP Active Attention, and coordinating with vendor teams and internal stakeholders is an asset.

Experience with software testing and defect management tools, such as HP ALM, ensuring timely resolution and retesting.
-
Experience in developing and implementing test strategies, including creation of test scripts, test data setup, refresh cycles, integration testing across SAP modules.

Knowledge of Agile methodologies, including phase-based deliverables (Prepare, Explore, Realize, Deploy).

Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate system and data issues and propose solutions in accordance with the City’s incident management processes, protocols, HR policies and guidelines.

Post-secondary education in business administration, human resources management, business analysis, systems analysis, computer science, etc., or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Project Management and/or SuccessFactors Expert SFX certification or accreditation is an asset.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships, develop solutions, and interact and communicate effectively with varying stakeholder levels.

Highly developed political acuity, customer focus and demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a strong network through relationship building.

Ability to exercise discretion, judgement and work independently or as a member of a team

Working knowledge of HR practices, procedures and employment related legislation (e.g. Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workers Safety Insurance Act, Human Rights Code, Labour Relations Act, Employment Standards Act, Accommodation of Ontarians with Disabilities Act, etc.

Strong organizational and time management, problem solving and verbal & written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.
