About the role
A leading construction company is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to support a major project in Ontario. This role offers the opportunity to lead project safety from planning through execution while working on a high-profile project.
The Role As the Health & Safety Manager, you will lead the development, implementation, and management of the project health and safety program. You will work closely with project leadership and key stakeholders to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation, strengthen training and communication across teams, and continuously improve safety performance.
Key Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and management of the health and safety program. Influence and support companywide health and safety training initiatives. Create and deliver health and safety training and communications for management and staff. Provide regular reporting and recommendations to senior leadership on health and safety statistics and performance. Identify and anticipate hazards by assessing environmental, operational, and occupational conditions, and recommend preventative programs. Coordinate facility audits and establish audit standards. Analyze safety incidents and construction conditions.
Qualifications 10+ years of construction industry experience, preferably on large infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. COR Auditor training is preferred. Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. High attention to detail and a proactive approach to health and safety. Practical knowledge of current health and safety legislation. Familiarity with safety management systems and incident reporting tools.
