We are looking for a Health Records Technician to work with our Decision Support Department to help us continue in our mission to serve our community with Kindness, Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork.

Position Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will perform the duties expected of a Health Records Technician within Decision Support Department

The Health Records Technician is responsible for ensuring all coding is carried out accurately and that information is ready for submission to CIHI in a timely fashion.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an approved Health Information Management Program
• Must be an active member of Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
• Minimum of 3 years in an acute hospital DAD/NACRS coding and abstracting required
• Proven knowledge of Ontario Hospital Funding Reform including HBAM and QBP required
• Active member of the Canadian Health Information management Association (CHIMA) (Associate level).
• Knowledge in ICD-10 & CCI Coding methodology.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) required and demonstrated experience and knowledge of MED2020,
• Winrecs abstracting system and Meditech preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of privacy, security and confidentiality in health information practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills combined with attention to detail skills and the ability to run reports

Hiring Salary Range: $32.95 - 37.26
