Content Coordinator

Reporting to the Manager, Content Marketing, this role works with a dynamic team of content and social media specialists producing engaging (and delicious!) content across Empire banners and marketing channels. The Coordinator, Content Marketing is a key team member, integrated into the daily execution of strategic content from ideation to launch. This role will have an area of focus on Social Media channel content, with cross-functional support for digital website content, email and in-store touch points. The ideal candidate is a creative, proactive and goal-oriented self-starter who’s passionate about unique multi-platform storytelling that drives the reason to believe for our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with cross-functional marketing, creative and external agency teams to support Omnichannel content execution for social, website, email, in-store touch points and other channels as needed
  • Assist Content Marketing Specialists with tracking data and insights to continually optimize digital content channels, including website & social media platforms
  • Support Organic Social Media content plans from ideation to creative briefs, working cross-functionally with our internal and external creative partners.
  • Responsible for social post copy & calendar maintenance, partnering with Specialists to bring the social strategy to life
  • Excel as a copy writer for retail / customer facing touch points both online and in-store
  • Write, edit and proofread multi-platform content on a daily basis to produce compelling, on-brand content across channels to inspire consumers and drive product discovery
  • Work closely with Content Marketing Specialist to execute content strategies on our websites in support of marketing campaigns from brainstorming to content creation to production
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to repurpose creative assets to help the team drive a true Omnichannel customer experience
  • Opportunity to support exciting brands across the organization including Sobeys, Safeway, Compliments, Foodland, Thrifty Foods & FreshCo

Requirements:

  • 3 years-experience in content marketing, communications, editorial or related fields
  • Experience in writing and content execution for digital channels including website and social media is a must
  • Copy writing experience in a consumer brand environment, food and grocery experience is preferred
  • Strong project and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing projects
  • Creative problem solver with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in SEO, digital analytics, social media metrics and tools is a plus
