##Job Description
Reporting to the Director, Business Solutions and Digital Workplace, the Microsoft 365 & Power Platform Engineer is responsible for architecting, automating, and governing Kinross's global productivity ecosystem across 10,000+ users in multiple countries and time zones. Unlike a traditional administrator, this role focuses on Platform Engineering: building automated guardrails, CI/CD pipelines, and AI-driven solutions that enable secure, scalable self-service for business users and citizen developers. You will operate across Power Platform ALM, Microsoft 365 architecture, and the emerging AI agent ecosystem, collaborating closely with Cloud Computing and Infrastructure, IT Security, Power Platform Developers, business analysts, and external vendors.
The Microsoft 365 & Power Platform Engineer ensures that Microsoft 365, Power Platform, and Copilot services are not just operational, but continuously optimized through Policy-as-Code and advanced automation. This is a broad mandate spanning platform governance, DevOps, identity and security, AI agent buildout, and citizen developer enablement. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate technical governance decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders and produce documentation and runbooks as a standard output of engineering work.
##Job Responsibilities
##1. Power Platform Engineering & ALM
- Advanced Governance: Deploy, maintain and extend the Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE) Toolkit, automating environment requests, premium connector approvals, and compliance monitoring.
- DevOps & ALM: Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions) to automate Application Lifecycle Management across Dev, Test, and Production environments.
- Work with Azure Repos for source control and solution versioning.
- Policy-as-Code: Develop PowerShell scripts and CLI solutions to enforce configuration standards automatically, eliminating manual intervention from routine governance operations.
- Platform Operations: Manage Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, Power Pages, Copilot and AI Builder, ensuring secure integration with on-premises data gateways and enterprise systems.
##2. Microsoft 365 Administration & Automation
- SharePoint Modernization: Lead SharePoint Online automation initiatives and execute technical migration strategies transitioning legacy content and workflows from SharePoint 2016 to the modern cloud environment, using tools such as SharePoint Migration Manager and ShareGate.
- Lifecycle Engineering: Design and implement automated governance for Teams, M365 Groups, and SharePoint sites to prevent sprawl and maintain data security at scale.
- Identity & Access: Support Entra ID configurations with a focus on B2B Direct Connect for external collaboration.
- Extensibility: Manage development and deployment of custom SPFx components and lead integrations for third-party tools including DocuSign and Adobe API services.
- License Administration & Automation: Manage and optimize Microsoft 365 license assignments across the tenant, ensuring users are provisioned with the appropriate SKUs based on role, department, and business need. Develop automated workflows using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API to handle license provisioning, de-provisioning, and timely recycling of unused licenses, reducing manual overhead and enforcing entitlement standards.
- License Reporting & Governance: Build automated reporting pipelines to surface license consumption trends, SKU availability, and upcoming renewal exposures to IT leadership and
- Finance stakeholders, enabling data-driven decisions on license optimization and cost management.
##AI & Copilot Ecosystem
- Copilot Studio: Architect and maintain Copilot environments, including governance of topics, custom plugins, and data grounding patterns. Design, build, deploy, and maintain enterprise integration of Microsoft 365 Copilot services, ensuring these AI-powered systems function efficiently, securely, and seamlessly alongside existing technology.
- Agentic Solutions: Leverage the M365 Agents Toolkit to build and govern AI agents. Note: this capability is in early-stage buildout at Kinross; the successful candidate will help define the production standards, not inherit them.
- AI Guardrails: Implement and monitor DLP policies tuned for AI workloads, ensuring tenant boundaries and data sensitivity classifications are respected.
##Enablement & Stakeholder Engagement
- Citizen Developer Support: Act as a technical resource for citizen developers, translating governance constraints into clear documentation, decision frameworks, and enablement sessions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Cloud Computing and Infrastructure, IT Security, Power Platform Developers, and other stakeholders to align platform decisions with organizational risk appetite and strategic priorities.
- Knowledge Sharing: Produce internal guides, runbooks, and training materials that reduce dependency on platform engineers for routine operations.
Other duties as assigned in support of the Business Solutions and Digital Workplace mandate.
##Education
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- The following certifications are preferred but not mandatory at time of hire. Candidates without them should be prepared to pursue relevant credentials within 12 months of hire.
- Expert Level: PL-600 (Power Platform Solution Architect) or MS-102 (Microsoft 365 Administrator)
- Specialist Level: AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) or PL-400 (Power Platform Developer)
##Experience
- Platform Depth: Minimum 5 years engineering Microsoft 365 and Power Platform at enterprise scale (5,000+ users across multiple geographies).
- PowerShell & CLI: Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and Azure CLI is required; experience automating Microsoft 365 and Power Platform operations via Microsoft Graph API or Logic Apps is strongly preferred.
- DevOps Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for Power Platform solution deployment and ALM, including Azure Repos / GitHub for source control and pipeline-driven deployments.

- Communication: Ability to communicate technical constraints and platform governance decisions clearly to non-technical business stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Comfortable engaging across IT Security, Architecture, and business units on decisions with organizational impact.
