About the role

We are hiring for this position out of our Vancouver office. Successful candidates who apply outside of this area will be expected to relocate and reside in a location that is within a commutable distance.

About the role:

The Financial Analyst plays a critical role in supporting Peoples Group’s financial planning and analysis (FP&A) function. This role is responsible for preparing financial reports, conducting variance analysis, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and contributing to strategic decision-making through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional with strong communication skills and a passion for continuous improvement.

About the day-to-day:

  • Prepare assigned financial and management reporting, and develop new reports as needed.
  • Conduct forecasts and variance analyses, comparing financial results to plan and forecast, identifying variances and drivers, and explaining results.
  • Assist in the annual and ongoing budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Perform decision support analysis and reporting for emerging opportunities or business needs.
  • Support ad hoc research, financial modeling, and analysis for regulatory or strategic purposes.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including enhancements to financial planning systems.
  • Participate in special projects as assigned.
  • Present findings and recommendations to functional teams, management, and executives.

About the qualifications:

  • Designated accountant (CPA or equivalent) or CFA designation is an asset.
  • 1–3 years of progressive experience in FP&A or financial analysis.
  • Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills.
  • Experience with variance analysis and decision support reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using Adaptive Planning is an asset.
  • High standards of accuracy, precision, and attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical thinker and creative problem solver with a strategic mindset.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders across all levels and functions.
  • Comfortable presenting complex financial information to non-finance audiences.
  • Strong ownership, accountability, and ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

About the work environment:

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home. Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start/end times.

Hiring process:

Compensation:

Peoples Group is pleased to offer employees a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $70,000 and $75,000 per year, depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience that the chosen candidate possesses.
