About the role

The Manager of Adult Services – Community Inclusion (CI) is responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and management of programs within the assigned Community Inclusion program area. This role is specifically responsible for overseeing our CI services. In addition to supporting the two programs in New Westminster and Port Coquitlam, the successful candidate will also manage other CI services. The role develops and implements systems to support effective service delivery, promotes community awareness, and enhances opportunities for inclusion and valued participation, while maintaining a high degree of knowledge of all applicable standards of practice.

Reporting to the Director of Adult Services, the Manager provides operational leadership and direct supervision to Program Supervisors as well as practicum and summer students as applicable and oversees all aspects of program coordination and administration. This includes individualized, person centred planning; staffing and teamwork; collaboration with individuals, families, staff, and community partners; financial and service level oversight; and problem resolution. The role oversees an established Community Inclusion program and supports its ongoing refinement and evolution to strengthen meaningful participation, community connection, and individual outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree in Social Sciences or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal record check.

  • Use of personal vehicle required

  • Valid BC Class 4 Driver’s License

  • Satisfactory driving record

  • Community Care First Aid/C.P.R.

  • MANDT Training Certificate

  • A flexible schedule is required to accommodate the needs of individuals, families, and other stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 3 years supervisory or management experience

  • Experience in group processes, presentation/facilitation skills

  • Proven leadership abilities including conflict resolution and team building skills

  • Proven ability and experience responding to emergency situations

  • Strong knowledge and skill with computers and MS/software

  • Ability to organize and maintain efficient work schedules.

  • The ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative and knowledge of and demonstrated experience working proactively and collaboratively with funders, community agencies, including related service providers.

  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively - verbally and in writing

  • A demonstrated commitment to person and family-centred practice.
