Job Description
We are currently hiring for a Deputy Program Manager (DPM) to support our Manned Airborne Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (MAISR) In-Service Support (ISS) Program. This is a long-term program in which General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada and our partner, Voyageur Aviation, will provide a full-suite of maintenance and engineering services for the Royal Canadian Air Forces new fleet of Beechcraft King-Air 350 Extended Range aircraft and its ground training devices. The services include airworthiness, program management, flight safety, maintenance, materiel management, technical publications, and engineering support to modifications. We will provide these services at their Main Operating Base 8 Wing, Trenton, Ontario and wherever and whenever the aircraft are deployed internationally in support of DND operations.
The Deputy Program Manager may be co-located with the MAISR Weapon System (WSM) team in Ottawa and be the prime program point of contact for technical matters. Although the Program Manager has overall accountability for the successful execution of the Program, some of the work tasks associated with the Program Manager roles and responsibilities will be delegated to the Deputy Program Manager.
You will be responsible for the following activities, but not limited to:

Responsible to work with the MAISR ISS WSM on short and long-term planning

Work with WSM in identifying customer needs and support with Statement of Work generation

Work with WSM in prioritizing activities for Team Certas
-
Liaise with DND Airworthiness auditors (exchange documentation, obtain clarification and/or response to queries as applicable
-
Responsible to ensure short and long-term plans are communicated and understood by the program team, and status is reported in a timely manner;

Responsible for tracking and reporting of program performance

Coordinating with WSM regarding timing for reporting, meetings, etc. and addressing WSM technical issues and feedback

Support the Program Manager as duties assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Engineering degree (Electrical, Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems or Computer) or equivalent experience
- Project Management Professional certificate would be an asset
Knowledge/Experience:
- Skilled in managing programs according to cost, schedule, and quality commitments
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management tools and methodologies
- Desire and capability to interact effectively with customers to influence, negotiate, assure a level of intimacy and satisfaction, and grow the assigned portfolio
- Leadership skills including interpersonal skills and collaboration
- Strong writing skills and experience writing program management plans
- Familiarity with project planning techniques and fiscal management
- Creative problem solving to contribute to continuous growth and improvement
Prefered skills:
- Experience on Major Aircraft modification and/or In-Service Support programs
- Training or experience with Aircraft Maintenance and Operations
- Experience working with Original Equipment Manufacturers
- Experience in maintaining and modifying civilian type aircrafts
- Good understanding of cyber security and information technology
- Understanding of estimating and business capture processes
It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. You must be eligible to work in Canada.

The hiring range for this position is $106,000-133,000 CAD annual.
