About the role

Peter Lucas Project Management is a group of energetic and curious problem-solvers in the mining industry; we are currently looking for a Project Controls Specialist to join our team.

Duties and responsibilities are:

  • Provide project management and controls support, including cost, schedule, metrics, and reporting.
  • Assist PMs with planning, supervision, performance tracking, and process development.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
  • Monitor progress against deliverables, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare project control deliverables, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Manage change orders, invoices, financial transactions, and cost-control files.
  • Support procurement activities and ensure timely communication of project risks and status.
  • Drive continuous improvement in schedule efficiency.

The ideal candidate will work on-site near Lanigan supporting the project, Monday to Friday. LOA will be provided for accommodations.

Salary: Open to wage negotiations based on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • Must have field-based experience at a large industrial site
  • Open to junior through senior candidates, but requires at least 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Mix of field coordination and project controls experience preferred.
  • Looking for someone willing to stay in the area (will cover weekend travel to/from home base).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Solid safety awareness.
  • Demonstrated project controls experience, including onsite support for major EPC Time & Materials contracts, auditing LEMs, monitoring project schedules and progress, collaborating with construction teams, coordinating with in-house controls specialists, and participating in weekly project controls meetings
  • Coordination: general onsite administration and logistics duties.
