As we grow, we're looking for an experienced pediatric Occupational Therapist who shares that philosophy and wants the flexibility of a part-time, contract role without giving up on their existing work commitments.
The Opportunity
This is a part-time Occupational Therapist contract role focused on children and youth, based in the Greater Vancouver Area — we'd especially love to hear from candidates based in Surrey or Langley. You'll carry a pediatric caseload — assessing, planning, and delivering therapy for young clients working on everything from fine motor and sensory processing goals to the everyday skills that help them thrive at home, at school, and in their community. We'll work with you to build a schedule that fits your life, whether that means a couple of consistent days a week or something more custom — and you're welcome to start small, with as little as 3–4 hours a week, and grow from there as it suits you. Most sessions take place in client's homes, so you'll get to see kids working on their goals in the environment where those skills matter most. If you'd prefer a mix of settings, we also have partnerships with clinics in Lougheed and Langley, and can arrange in-clinic sessions there based on your preference and the client's needs.
What You'll Do
- Assess pediatric clients using standardized tools, structured observation, and conversations with families to understand each child's strengths and goals
- Build individualized, evidence-based treatment plans and adjust them as each child progresses
- Deliver one-on-one therapy primarily through home visits, with in-clinic sessions available at our partner clinics in Lougheed or Langley when that's a better fit
- Select and use pediatric-appropriate therapy techniques and equipment — from sensory integration tools to adaptive and fine-motor aids
- Keep parents, caregivers, teachers, and other providers in the loop, translating clinical progress into plain, practical language
- Work alongside our broader interdisciplinary team — which may include speech-language pathologists, physiotherapists, psychologists, and behaviour consultants — so every child's plan is joined up
- Complete timely documentation and any reports required by families, schools, or funders
What You Bring
- A master's-level degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current registration (or immediate eligibility to register) with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC, formerly COTBC), permitting you to practise as an OT in British Columbia
- At least 4 years of clinical experience, with a solid track record working directly with children and their families
- A demonstrated ability to build treatment plans from the ground up and see them through to real, measurable progress
- Solid working knowledge of pediatric therapy approaches and the equipment that goes with them
- Registration on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP) list, or willingness to complete that registration
Schedule & Flexibility
This role is part-time, with days and hours arranged around clinic needs and your availability — you can start with as little as 3–4 hours a week and build from there as it works for you. We're happy to discuss set weekly blocks, a compressed schedule, or a mix of home visits and in-clinic time where it makes sense.
Compensation
The expected pay range for this position is $80–$100 per billable hour, depending on experience and qualifications. This is an independent contractor engagement rather than an employee position. Since most sessions are home visits, travel between appointments is compensated separately from your billable rate.
