The Project:

This major national rail programme is focused on delivering a modern, electrified high-speed corridor that will strengthen connectivity between key urban centres. The scheme aims to significantly reduce journey times, enhance passenger capacity, and support long term decarbonisation goals. Development is progressing toward phased delivery over the next decade.

Leads complex technical assignments and programme strategies, ensuring alignment with client objectives and driving innovative industry change. Integrates specialist expertise to meet key milestones while championing continuous improvement and Mace’s Safety First culture. Builds strong networks, develops others through knowledge sharing, and provides clear technical leadership across a defined portfolio.

You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Leads complex technical assignments and programme strategies.
  • Champions Mace’s Safety First culture.
  • Provides senior‑level technical leadership and counsel.
  • Drives innovation and delivery excellence.
  • Integrates technical expertise into proposals and commissions.
  • Embeds continuous improvement and compliant delivery.
  • Builds strong industry and client relationships.
  • Supports net‑zero and digital innovation across portfolios.

You’ll Need To Have:

  • Experience delivering major rail or high‑speed programmes, ideally within the design or early set‑up stages.
  • Recognised industry expert in major projects and programme delivery.
  • Chartered professional (RICS, CIOB, ICE, APM) or equivalent.
  • Advanced technical, risk, and construction methodology expertise.
  • Strong communicator with proven strategic influence across complex environments.

Note: The estimated salary for this position is $250,000 - 300,000. Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills and qualifications.
