This posting is to fill one permanent position, working 75 hours bi-weekly. Who We Are… The Executive Council Office is the centre of excellence for the Government of Yukon. We are leaders in the modernization of government standards and processes. We provide central strategic advice to advance government priorities through policy development, communications, intergovernmental relations, Indigenous relations, major project management, youth initiatives, Indigenous and scientific knowledge science and by supporting the Water Board and the Commissioner’s Office. We also provide direct support to the Premier and Cabinet.

The opportunity… The Communications Branch provides a full range of communications and public engagement services, while also driving innovative projects to enhance our processes, service delivery, and evaluation methods.
We are seeking an experienced, senior-level professional who brings big-picture thinking and a strategic mindset to drive change and deliver initiatives that balance the needs of a wide range of stakeholders—internal, external, departmental, and corporate.
Taking a thoughtful and influential approach, leads the communications teams to achieve results in fast-paced environments, while fostering strong and collaborative relationships, and ensuring success within government processes and structures.

- Degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related field.
- Experience providing communications or other advice to senior leaders during an election or transition to a new administration.
- Significant senior management experience (preferably in a government setting) providing strategic advice, direction and recommendations on complex communications and public engagement projects and initiatives.
- Experience leading projects, leading change management and collaborating with various clients.
- Experience managing digital communications including social media and website development.
- Experience managing human and financial resources and leading and coaching multi-disciplinary teams.
Candidates who have education, training, and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.
