The Office of Postgraduate Medical Education in the Cumming School of Medicine is currently seeking a Full-time Temporary Relief Quality Improvement & Accreditation Administrator for approximately 1 year.
The Office of Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), Cumming School of Medicine, is accredited by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (RCPSC) and the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC). It oversees the education and training of 1250+ medical residents, fellows, international trainees, and visiting elective residents in 65 specialty and subspecialty residency programs in a variety of clinical and academic settings situated in five Calgary hospitals with collaborative relationships in metro and rural settings. Residency training programs vary in length from two to eight years, have independent education curricula, and are separately accredited according to the Royal College and College of Family Medicine mandated requirements.
This position reports to the QI and Accreditation Manager, and has primary responsibility for organizing, and coordinating administrative activities in support of the Quality Improvement and Accreditation Team.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (job functions include but are not limited to):
- Schedule and coordinate, in conjunction with the QI and Accreditation Manager, the Accreditation reviews
- Mock, Internal and External
- Manage the meeting schedules of internal and external Accreditation team visits with CSM/PGME faculty and staff
- Ensure safe and appropriate storage and dissemination of documentation
- Update and maintain reports from Accreditation self-assessments, to ensure compliance with Accreditation standards, policies, and procedures
- Update and maintain program lists; and communicate changes to the faculty, staff and to the residency training program administrators, as well as to the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the College of Family Physicians of Canada
- Provide administrative support to QI and Accreditation Committee
- Provide administrative support to Quality Improvement and Accreditation team
- Assist with developing program processes and practices, including frameworks, resources, and quality measures/ indicators
- Support with planning and delivery of QI workshops and other program activities
- Support QI and Accreditation team in delivering follow up and support with QI and Accreditation related projects
- Work with QI and Accreditation Manager to administer and monitor quality assurance and accreditation program activities
- Maintain QI and Accreditation relevant areas
Qualifications / Requirements:
- A post-secondary certificate in office administration and minimum of 5 years of administrative support experience. Undergraduate degree will be considered a strong asset
- Excellent knowledge of educational institutions, hospital/clinical settings, and Canadian postgraduate medical education
- Demonstrated experience in establishing processes and improving services
- Experience supporting Accreditation activities is considered an asset
- Experience supporting Quality Improvement initiatives is considered an asset
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive)
- Experience using University systems including MS Teams, Zoom and SharePoint
- Experience with Accreditation Management software an asset
- Experience entering and working with data
- Demonstrate flexibility in dealing with changing demands and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Advanced interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and time management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet constant, shifting deadlines is required
- Demonstrated professionalism, tact, judgement, and attention to detail with the ability to consistently produce work with a high degree of accuracy is essential
- Ability to plan, problem-solve and organize multiple tasks and priorities is essential
- Ability to work independently, exercising initiative and good judgment
