Located in Fort Providence, this position reports directly to the Regional Manager, Mental Health and Addictions Services for the administrative, supervision and functional input and clinical guidance. The incumbent should be prepared to travel 20% of the time into the Dehcho communities. You will be required to work on call and work a flexible schedule to ensure accessibility to members of the community.
The MHAC offers discreet, community-based, culturally sensitive, and recovery-focused counselling for mental health, addictions, and family violence. Services include prevention, promotion, therapeutic counselling, case management, and crisis response. The MHAC also acts as a key referral source for individuals with complex needs requiring inpatient or external services.
Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by:
A Degree in social work, counselling, addictions counselling, or counselling psychology with three (3) years of relevant counselling experience in a scope of practice or experience restricted to youth mental health, addictions, mental health, and/or family violence.
