Are you passionate about helping students explore academic pathways, define career goals, and access the guidance and resources they need to succeed during and beyond their time at the University of Regina?Join us as our new term Career Services Coordinator!

The primary function of the position is to develop and offer career counselling services and resources to all U of R students. The main purpose of the position is to support and facilitate students’ success in achieving educational and career goals and contributing productively to the broader community and society.

Individuals requesting assistance are typically seeking to enhance their education and career development. As the Career Services Coordinator, this includes providing counselling and support to registered students and alumni who are undecided about their major/career direction, seeking relevant work experience, and/or re-evaluating their direction.

What You’ll Do:

  • Providing individual career counselling for informing educational and career decision making
  • Developing and delivering seminars and presentations
  • Extensive research and resource development
  • Creation of multimedia resources (synchronous/asynchronous)
  • Tailoring career services for all academic programs
  • Promoting increased utilization of career services and specifically the Centre for Experiential & Service Learning (CESL) -**Plus More:**Be ready to take on additional related tasks as assigned – your role is dynamic and essential to our success!

Position Requirements

What You’ll Bring to this Position:

  • Masters degree (in a related field strongly preferred).
  • 3 years related experience
  • A combination of related experience and education will be considered.

Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in the Role:

  • Continuing education required to keep up-to-date on career counselling and changes in education and the labour market (e.g., attend conferences and workshops, professional reading/research)
  • Require a foundation of knowledge about a variety of job searching strategies, skills and resources (e.g., how to answer behavioral interview questions, access the hidden job market, and conceptualize and communicate knowledge, skills and attributes in resumes and interviews)
  • Require a foundation in counselling individuals of diverse backgrounds and stages of development who are addressing educational and career indecision (e.g., choosing a major, program and career direction, re-evaluating initial choices)
  • Adjust counselling as appropriate to individual needs and preference
  • Require a foundation in counselling ethics and knowledge of the Canadian Standards & Guidelines for Career Development Practitioners
  • Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Possess exceptionally strong writing skills applicable to all disciplines
  • Possess exceptionally strong oral presentation skills and experience presenting complex information to diverse audiences
  • Require a strong grounding in Student Development Theory, experiential and work-integrated learning and appreciative advising
  • Require extensive knowledge and skill in using different technologies for developing and producing print and digital resources (e.g., perform PDF conversion, create PowerPoint presentations, extensive website development, use of databases)
  • Require knowledge of the University of Regina and different services and resources for appropriately referring individuals

Physical Demands

Presentations of up to 4 hrs in length.

Pay Grade APT 5 Salary Range $71,745.00 - $96,825.00 annually Status Term Work Hours

8:15 to 4:30 pm with some evenings and weekends.

Duration (if Term/Temporary) July 20, 2026 - July 31, 2027 (1 year) with possibility of extension or becoming permanent Full-Time/Part-Time Full Time Preference Posting No Preference Target Posting Not Targeted
