Hiring Unit:
Athletics & Recreation - Children's Programming
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the aquatics staff member will be responsible for lifeguarding duties during camp’s free swim periods. They will be expected to provide swimming tips for campers using our “learn to swim” area of the pool. When required Aquatics staff may be asked to assist in other areas of camp throughout the day.
Duties:
- Monitor and ensure the safety of campers during free swim periods at the pool.
- Help campers in the “learn to swim” area of the pool.
- Inform camp administrator of any issues/ incidents requiring immediate attention.
- Reporting or contacting the Winsor clinic staff of any incidents requiring immediate medical attention
- During the camper’s drop-off and pick-up times, the aquatics staff will be expected to assist with manning the parking lot area and/or the daycare area.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- NLS certification required
- Standard First Aid certification required
- Bilingual in English and English.
Selected candidates must successfully pass their criminal background check in order to be considered for this position.
