**People Partner –**People & Culture (Full-Time Permanent)
The Role and Opportunity
The Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) – Toronto is seeking a People Partner to join our People & Culture team. This role provides day-to-day HR support to staff and leaders and plays a key role in full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and leave management. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with leadership to support employees throughout the employment lifecycle and help foster a positive and supportive workplace environment aligned with CMHA Toronto’s values.
Salary**:** $63,879 – $69,994
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm (35 per week)
Location: Hybrid(Remote and West Office when needed)

Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Collaborate with hiring managers to develop job postings and job descriptions that reflect program needs.
- Coordinate and support the full recruitment cycle, including resume screening, interview scheduling, reference checks, and assisting managers in candidate selection.
- Prepare and issue offer letters and onboarding documentation.
- Facilitate New Hire Orientation sessions and ensure a positive welcome experience.
- Complete new hire ADP setup and support access to required systems and tools.
Benefits & HRIS Administration
- Enroll new employees in GroupHEALTH benefits and HOOPP, and process life event changes.
- Respond to day-to-day employee inquiries regarding benefits and leave processes.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee information in ADP WorkforceNow (new hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, salary changes, etc.).
Leaves of Absence & Disability Management
- Support managers in planning for coverage and backfill during employee leaves.
- Liaise with the Disability Management Institute (DMI) for medical leaves, documentation, and case coordination.
- Coordinate benefit and/or pension premium arrangements during unpaid leaves.
- Collaborate with managers and DMI to support return-to-work plans, including modified duties or gradual return schedules.
- Request functional assessments or medical documentation when required.
Employee & Leadership Support
- Act as a first point of contact for staff and leaders regarding HR policies, procedures, and employment-related inquiries.
- Schedule regular check-ins with managers to proactively identify and support people-related concerns (attendance, interpersonal dynamics, performance, etc.).
- Consult with the Senior Manager, People & Culture to develop recommendations and solutions for employee relations matters.
Administrative & Organizational Support
- Submit and track purchase orders and invoices in NetSuite for HR-related vendors and services.
- Actively participate in at least two committees to support organizational development and staff engagement.
- Contribute to P&C projects, policy updates, wellness initiatives, and other HR activities that promote a positive workplace culture.
Experience & Education Required
- Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a Human Resources Coordinator or Generalist role.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms; experience with ADP Workforce Now considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience supporting managers across a range of HR practices (e.g., recruitment, performance management, training and development, compensation, health and safety, employee engagement, employee relations, benefits, pension, and payroll) is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Solution-focused approach with sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
