About the Role:

We’re looking for a professional eager to apply their financial and data analysis skills in an exciting and challenging area. Working in the ATCO Gas Revenue Forecasting team, this position is responsible for forecasting, monitoring, analyzing and reporting ATCO Gas’ rate revenues. Responsibilities will also include providing and maintaining a centralized, consistent source of historical customer information and billing data in support of key reporting controls.

What You’ll Do:

  • Using statistical data and regression modeling, evaluate and analyze the design of the current market forecasting and settlement system. Provide design recommendations for a system upgrade project and participate in project testing and documentation.
  • Conduct revenue forecasting and ongoing monitoring of actual revenue under approved rates using Excel and SAS software applications. Perform monthly revenue variance analysis to identify causes of variances against forecast.
  • Support Annual Rate Applications, Rider Applications and Rate Design Applications. This includes the development and preparation of the application, responding to information requests and any related research with respect to intervening evidence and argument.
  • Maintain knowledge of current developments in rate design, economics, and utility rate regulation by researching literature and rate systems of other utilities.
  • Develop and maintain a system that streamlines the ability of the Regulatory team to access historical customer billing information.
  • Respond to requests from various groups across the business with a customer centric view.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for all processes in support of regulatory and internal audit purposes.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Post-secondary education in statistics, business, economics, or engineering.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and statistical data programs (SAS).
  • Knowledge of regulatory principles, billing procedures, and rate structures will be considered an asset.
  • More than 5 years of progressive utility related experience.
  • A good overall understanding of the utility business.
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented, while also capable of seeing the big picture.
  • Self-starter who is eager to learn and master complex technical skills.
  • Proven ability to contribute and work well within a team environment.
