Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Driller to join our underground mining team. Reporting to the Drilling Supervisor, the Driller will be responsible for executing drilling operations efficiently while maintaining high safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure a safe working environment, as directed by the Supervisor
Interpret and work from engineering prints and layouts
Operate top hammer or ITH long hole drills to execute drilling plans
Install services and prepare drill sites for operations
Assist in long hole blasting and other drilling-related tasks
Perform general underground mining duties as required
Qualifications:
Full Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core is required
Minimum two (2) years of experience in underground mining and heavy equipment operation.
Strong understanding of top hammer and ITH long hole drilling techniques
Hands-on experience in stope preparation or related underground operations
Tractor, scoop, scissor lift, flatbed, and transmixer certifications
Raisebore, V30 drilling, and Long hole blasting certification are all considered an asset
Schedule: 7 days on, followed by 7 days off; 11-hour day and night shifts (Kidd Operations reserves the right to modify working schedules as necessary, in accordance with applicable notice requirements and labor regulations.)
As this position is in a safety-sensitive environment, final candidates must successfully complete Drug & Alcohol testing as part of our pre-employment process.
