Tractor Backhoe – Infrastructure (Water & Sewer)
About the role
Thompson Construction Group has immediate openings for Water and Sewer Tractor Backhoe Operators supporting our Infrastructure division’s land development and subdivision projects in the Edmonton area.
Responsibilities:
- Pack around various obstacles during backfill of water and sewer pipe
- Work with Track Loader Operator and Packer Operator to efficiently carry out backfill activities
- Excavating to facilitate any small repairs that may be required during backfill activities
- Provide support to Rubber Tired Loader when required in supplying crew with materials or sand
- Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
- Report all incidents, near misses, and equipment damage to site supervision
- Maintain effective communication with supervisors and crew members
- Work collaboratively as part of a construction crew to meet project timelines
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a tractor backhoe operator
- Reliable transportation to and from site
- Ability to work extended hours, including up to 12 hours per day, Monday to Saturday
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is considered an asset
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor construction environment
